Together with Prof. Neil Ferguson and Dr. Bjørn-Inge Larsen, Prof. Gerd Gigerenzer will be one of the keynote speakers at this year's conference of the Society for Medical Decision Making (SMDM). The conference will take place in Oslo, Norway from June 10-12.

On May 16, 2012, Gerd Gigerenzer will hold a lecture at the 83rd Annual Meeting of the German Society of Oto-Rhino-Laryngology in Mainz, Germany.

As part of the lecture series „ZUKUNFT denken", organized by the Udo Keller Stiftung Forum Humanum in cooperation with the Hamburg Planetarium, Gerd Gigerenzer will hold a public lecture (in German) titled „Die Illusion der Gewissheit: Über den Umgang mit Risiken und Unsicherheiten" (The Illusion of Certainty: Dealing with Risks and Uncertainties) on April 24, 2012.

Gerd Gigerenzer will be part of a panel discussion on "What Can Economists Know? Rethinking the Foundations of Economic Understanding" at the annual plenary conference of The Institute for New Economic Thinking from April 12 to 15, 2012. The conference, titled "Paradigm Lost: Rethinking Economics and Politics," will take place in Berlin.

"Berliner Wirtschaftsgespräche e.V." invites the public to a lounge talk featuring interviews with two very diverse public figures, Gerd Gigerenzer and the gallery owner and artist Gerald Uhlig.

Gerd Gigerenzer will hold a public lecture on risk literacy (in German) at the Ruhr-Universität in Bochum as part of its "Hörsaal City" lecture series. This series presents current topics and latest research to residents of Bochum and the region and foster discussion.

Markus Feufel will give the opening lecture at the convention "Augen zu und durch! Wie gefahrenblind ist unsere Gesellschaft?" (How risk literate is our society?), organised by the Evangelische Akademie im Rheinland on March 2, 2012 in Bonn, Germany. The lecture and convention will be held in German.
